Three Brutal Killings Under Investigation
Detectives are looking into a tragic incident involving the murder of a 37-year-old woman, whose body was found set on fire in the Pangani area of Nairobi.
According to police, the incident took place in an apartment on the eighth floor of the Boma Yangu Estate, where the victim, identified as Shelmic Wambui Muratha, lived.
When her body was discovered, it showed signs of stab wounds.
As of now, the attacker remains unidentified, and the motive behind this horrific act is still unclear, police reported.
Neighbors living along Kinshasa Road noticed smoke coming from the apartment before police and emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene.
They forced their way through the front door and managed to contain the fire, only to discover the tenant’s body lying on the floor, marked by burns and blood smeared around it.
According to the police, a closer look revealed stab wounds on her chest.
It appears the assailant had ransacked the house, killing the woman before setting the fire to cover their tracks, as stated by the authorities.
Fortunately, only a few clothes and a mosquito net were burned before the flames were brought under control, but the attacker had already fled the scene.
Police are currently following up on several leads regarding the murder.
The body has been taken to the mortuary, awaiting an autopsy and further investigation, as reported by the police.
In a separate incident in Soy, Uasin Gishu County, a male body was discovered dumped by the roadside after being murdered.
Authorities noted that the victim had visible injuries, including multiple deep cuts on his head, clear lacerations on both hands, and a severe cut on his left foot.
The motive behind this murder remains unclear, and the body has been sent to the mortuary for identification and an autopsy.
In Maua, Meru County, a tragic incident unfolded when 50-year-old David Kiluingu was found dead following an attack at a local bodaboda stage. According to the police, he was brutally slashed and left for dead by an assailant who managed to flee the scene.
Authorities reported that David was quickly taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
The attacker is still at large after the incident on August 8, and police are currently working to determine the motive behind this senseless act of violence.
David’s body has been taken to a local mortuary, where it will be preserved until an autopsy can be performed.
