Tanzanian gospel artist Christina Shusho has just released a deeply moving song in memory of the late former Raila Odinga, who sadly passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

The track, titled “Pumzika Baba,” is a heartfelt tribute that honors Odinga’s life and his significant contributions to both Kenya and Africa at large.

In her song, Shusho highlights Odinga’s unwavering dedication and the profound impact he made throughout his political career, showcasing his remarkable courage.

In a statement shared on Friday, October 17, Shusho conveyed her condolences to the people of Kenya, expressing that she considers Kenya her second home.

“Kenya is my second home. My Ministry has immensely grown through the support of my Kenyan family. I stand with you as we celebrate this great son of Africa, ⁦Raila Odinga⁩. I had to do this for Kenyans,” she said.

Shusho’s song added a spiritual touch to tributes from across the region, as Africa mourns one of its most influential political figures.

She became part of a growing group of talented Kenyan artists who have released heartfelt and emotional songs to honor the late Raila Odinga, celebrating his legacy, leadership, and lifelong dedication to justice.

Kenyan rapper King Kaka recently released a deeply heartfelt and emotional track, paying tribute to the late ODM leader Raila Odinga, celebrating his legacy, leadership, and immense impact on Kenya’s political landscape.

Benga artist Prince Indah also took a moment to remember Odinga with a touching musical homage.

Throughout his life, Odinga was well-known for his passion for music, often singing at public events.

One of his all-time favorite songs was ‘Jamaican Farewell’ by Harry Belafonte, which features a poignant line.

“But I am sad to say, I’m on my way, won’t be back for many a day…”
