Operations at the airport were put on hold for a while due to a security incident that occurred during the arrival of his remains.
The initial plan to transport the body from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to Lee Funeral Home for final preparations, before it was to be taken to Parliament Buildings for public viewing, had to be scrapped because of growing crowd disturbances.
Now, the remains have been redirected to the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani, as the overwhelming crowds made it impossible to carry out the transfer as originally intended.
