Comedian Squiro Hospitalised After Depression
Comedian Squiro has made a heartfelt appeal to Kenyans after battling depression, which led to a fainting seizure that landed him in the hospital for two days.
During a visit from YouTuber 2Mbili on Monday, October 13, 2025, he shared how the unexpected incident left him feeling frightened and disoriented. Waking up in the hospital was a shocking experience he never saw coming.
“At that moment, I felt my head spinning, and I did not know what was happening. I also had a fever, and my body was being given fluids. I appreciate 2Mbili for coming to see me here at the hospital,” he said.
Squiro expressed his deep frustration about how challenging life had become for him, especially after a recent burglary at his home that left him feeling traumatized.
He shared that the thieves had taken many of his cherished possessions, including a camera that Lynn Ngugi had gifted him, his phone, cooking gas, shoes, and even some furniture. He mentioned that he had only been able to replace a sofa set and was still without a proper bed. This whole experience has only added to his stress and has taken a toll on his health.
“A few days before, my house had been broken into, and I never fully recovered from that. I even had to buy a sofa set because everything else was stolen, and I do not even have a proper bed,” he added.
He mentioned that the fainting incident occurred while he was simply doing a routine chore at home, getting some water. When he came back, he suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed, but luckily he fell in a spot where someone could see him. Squiro pointed out that if he had passed out inside his home, where he lives by himself, the situation could have turned out much worse.
“I want to tell Kenyans that this sickness was unexpected. I suddenly found myself here, and I did not know how I got here. Even the doctor told me that my neighbour had brought me in. I had gone outside to fetch water, and on returning, I felt dizzy and collapsed. Thankfully, I fell where someone could see me. If I had collapsed inside my house, where I live alone, it could have been much worse,” Squiro said.
He shared that he had been getting fluids at the hospital and was still on the mend physically, really stressing how serious his condition was.
“I have been in hospital for two days, still receiving treatment, and I am gradually recovering. The thieves took a lot from me, including a camera gifted by Lynn Ngugi, my phone, cooking gas, shoes, and other belongings. Even now, I am still struggling.”
The doctor mentioned that although stress was really weighing on the comedian, the financial losses he experienced weren’t a medical issue and could be gradually recovered.
“This young man appears to be under a lot of stress. Stress is affecting him greatly, but I am not concerned about the items he lost, they can be replaced gradually,” the male doctor said during the visit.
