Mob Kills Murder Suspect
In a shocking turn of events, a man was lynched by a mob just moments after being accused of murdering his mother in a village in Samia, Busia County. The victim, identified as 89-year-old Rosalia Auma Obonyo, was found dead outside her home, prompting locals to quickly mobilize and hunt down her son, 69-year-old Ernest Mudivo.
Tragically, Mudivo met a violent end just a short distance from where his mother’s body lay, as police reported he was stoned to death. The exact motive behind the murder remains unclear, and both bodies have been taken to the mortuary for autopsies and further investigation.
Authorities are urging the community to refrain from mob justice, encouraging residents to hand over suspects to the police for proper legal action. Unfortunately, incidents of mob lynching have been increasing, despite ongoing efforts to combat this troubling trend.
In a separate incident in Wagai, Siaya County, the lifeless body of 21-year-old Evans Kibet was discovered next to a tree, suspected to be a murder victim. His body was covered with branches, and police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. The remains have also been sent to the mortuary for an autopsy, with no arrests made so far.
Additionally, detectives are looking into a case where a man perished in a fire in the Malili area of Salama, Makueni County. The blaze erupted in a house near the Cool Breeze Restaurant, and the victim was trapped inside an iron-sheet structure when the fire broke out. Police have stated that they are currently unable to identify the man’s remains.
The body has been taken to the mortuary while authorities await identification and an autopsy. The cause of the fire remains unclear, according to police, who have launched an investigation.
In Imenti, within Meru County’s Kathwene village, a tragic domestic dispute resulted in the death of a woman at the hands of her husband.
The lifeless body of 40-year-old Peninna Gakii was discovered in her bedroom, long after she had been killed.
Authorities reported that her body bore severe injuries, likely caused by a blunt object.
When her body was found, blood was seen oozing from her mouth and nostrils, police noted.
They have arrested a man suspected to be her husband in connection with the murder and recovered a wooden stick believed to have been used in the attack.
The investigative team that arrived at the scene connected the murder to a domestic argument as they transported the body to the mortuary for further procedures.
Meanwhile, in Luanda, at a private compound in Vihiga County’s Emayoka village, the body of a man was discovered following a suspected murder.
Police have identified the deceased as 50-year-old Patrick Sichenga Omufuoko.
It is believed he suffered fatal injuries to the head from a blunt object, leading to his death, according to police.
The reason behind the murder hasn’t been determined yet.
