Police Probe Brutal Murders
Police are looking into a tragic incident in Bonyunyu village, Nyamira county, where the body of a 30-year-old woman was discovered on a chair after her murder.
Agnes Moraa Monda was found by a relative in her home, long after she had been killed on September 29, 2025.
The police reported that a woman’s body was discovered slumped in a chair, with visible injuries around her neck.
Her husband later turned himself in at the Mokomoni police station, where he was taken into custody.
He expressed his fear that the local villagers might take matters into their own hands and harm him.
According to him, he and his wife had a heated argument that escalated out of control.
The woman’s remains have been transferred to the mortuary, awaiting an autopsy and further investigation.
Incidents of domestic murder have been increasing in recent months, prompting calls for couples to resolve their conflicts peacefully.
Authorities believe many of these cases are linked to love triangles. While some have been resolved, many others are still making their way through the courts, according to police reports.
The government is currently looking into the alarming rise in murders targeting women.
In a different incident within the same Bonyunyu village, a 21-year-old man was found murdered and his body dumped on the roadside.
Police have reported that Clinton Momanyi was killed elsewhere before his body was discovered in the area on September 29, 2025.
According to the authorities, the man had several deep, fresh cuts on his head, and both of his hands were bound with a sisal rope.
The motive behind the murder remains unclear, as police transported the body to the mortuary for an autopsy.
Detectives are looking into the possibility that a vigilante group operating in the area may be responsible, and they are actively working to confirm this theory.
In a separate case, police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body near a school in Buruburu, Nairobi.
The man had sustained head injuries and appeared to have been killed at the scene, according to officers who responded to the incident.
Guards arriving for work in the area reported finding the body lying near the school gate, long after the crime had taken place.
The motive for this murder is still unknown, as police have moved the body to the mortuary for identification and an autopsy.
These types of murders have been associated with violent robberies.
Authorities are urging robbery victims to comply with their attackers for their own safety.
“It is better to cooperate with an attacker who is ready to harm you than fight back and be killed or be left with serious injuries,” Nairobi police commander George Seda said.
He said they have increased patrols to address cases of robberies in some areas of the city.
