Woman Stabbed Dead in Homa Bay
Police are looking into the tragic stabbing of a 44-year-old woman at her home in the Got Oyaro area of Homa Bay County.
The body of Everlyne Ongaro was discovered near Doho beach on January 5, after she had been stabbed.
Authorities believe her boyfriend, a local fisherman, is the prime suspect.
While the exact motive for the attack hasn’t been determined yet, locals mentioned that the couple had a heated argument before the incident occurred.
According to police, her body showed stab wounds to the stomach.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the weapon used in the murder as they transported the body to the mortuary for an autopsy.
The search for the suspected assailant was still ongoing as of Wednesday, according to police.
Sadly, such violent incidents have been increasing, often linked to love triangles and land disputes in the villages.
In a separate case in Kiamumbi area, Kiambu County, police are investigating the murder of a man whose body was discovered on the roadside.
The body of 27-year-old Stephen Mwaura was found on Tuesday along the Ruiru-Kamiti road, near a local stream, and it had visible injuries with blood coming from his ear.
The circumstances surrounding Stephen’s murder remain unclear, and police are working to move his body to the mortuary for an autopsy and further investigation.
Police returned to the scene on Wednesday as part of their ongoing investigation into the murder. The team reported that they didn’t find any weapon used in the crime at that time, but they assured the public that the investigation was progressing well.
In a separate incident, a 53-year-old man passed away in the hospital after being attacked by his son over a land dispute in Nalondo, Bungoma County.
According to the police, Thadeus Wanyama Juma was seriously injured by his son during a heated argument about selling a piece of their land. The son came home on January 2, insisting on selling the land, and when his father refused, he grabbed an axe and fatally attacked him.
Thadeus was rushed to the hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries on January 6, as confirmed by the police.
He had suffered severe head injuries. The son has been arrested and is expected to face murder charges, according to police reports on Wednesday. The body has been taken to the mortuary, awaiting an autopsy.
In another case in Ekerenyo, Nyamira County, a man was stabbed and seriously injured during a dispute. This altercation occurred when the victim confronted another man in Bokurati village.
The attacker fled the scene after the incident, while the victim was quickly taken to the hospital. Police are currently searching for the assailant to question him and determine the motive behind the attack.
