Man kills girlfriend, mob kills him
A tragic incident unfolded when a middle-aged woman was killed by her boyfriend, leading to a furious crowd that cornered and lynched him.
This shocking event took place on the afternoon of Monday, October 27, 2025, in Mwanyani village, just 2 kilometers from Machakos town along the Machakos-Kitui road. Machakos DCIO Nzioka Singi confirmed the incident, stating that they received a call about the murder and quickly rushed to the scene. There, they discovered a woman named Susan Nyaboke lying in a pool of blood on the road.
“Today, at around 1330 hrs, we received a call from members of the public and were informed that there was a murder incident that had just happened at Mwanyani. When we got to the scene, a lady by the name Susan Nyaboke was lying lifeless on the road.” Said Singi
He shared that a suspicious man, wielding sharp machetes, followed his girlfriend to the spot where she was about to catch a motorbike to her office. Tragically, she was slashed on the neck and died instantly.
In a flash, a crowd formed, and they brutally beat the suspect to death before setting his body ablaze.
“Those who witnessed the incident, because it took place in a market, gathered and got hold of the man before beating him mercilessly to death and lynching his body,” the DCIO explained.
The said killer has not been positively identified, but the police suspect him to be one of the area college students within the area.
“It’s highly suspected he is a student from one of the colleges around Machakos, but he didn’t have any identification documents at the time.”
“If you feel your relationship or marriage isn’t working, then just move out and let your spouse find a ready and willing man to marry. This issue of killing your partner just because of love gone sour is uncalled for, and men should step up.” Said Allan Musembi, Machakos Sub-County Bodaboda Chair. Police have not identified any man involved in the mob killing of the suspect, but investigations are ongoing to unravel the whole occurrence.
The bodies have been moved to the mortuary at Machakos Level Five Referral Hospital, where they will await autopsy. Meanwhile, the SCCIO has issued a warning to the public, urging them not to take the law into their own hands or resort to violence. Instead, they should report any suspects to the security agencies for proper legal action.
