Detectives are looking into the shocking murder of an eight-year-old girl found inside a house in Tokomta village, Mulot, Narok County.
According to the police, her throat had been cut when her body was discovered on the evening of Wednesday, December 17. The reason behind this horrific act remains unclear.
The girl’s mother mentioned that she had sent her to a neighbor’s house to get some salt, but when she didn’t come back as expected, concern grew.
After several hours, family members began to search for her and tragically found her lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
It appears that her neck was slashed by someone who police believe may have been familiar to her. A blood-stained machete was located next to her body, and the suspect is reported to have fled the scene.
Her body has been taken to the mortuary while an autopsy is pending, and police are actively pursuing the suspect.
In a different incident in Itangi, Mwea, Kirinyaga County, a 30-year-old man named Peterson Kimenju lost his life during a fight with a patron outside a bar.
He was discovered bleeding hours after being struck on the head by the assailant, who managed to escape. The exact cause of the argument that escalated into violence is still unknown.
His body has also been moved to the mortuary for an autopsy and further procedures.
Meanwhile, in the Githurai 44 area, a man was found dead by the roadside. Police reported that he had collapsed and died at the scene during the incident on Wednesday evening. The cause of death is still under investigation.

In a tragic incident in Kabati, Murang’a County, a man is accused of brutally killing his estranged wife.
Pauline Warugu, 35, sadly lost her life in the hospital after suffering severe injuries from the attack on December 16 in the Riandegwa area, according to police reports.
At the time of the attack, she was with her mother, on their way to work on their family land when the assailant, who had been following her, struck.
He hit her on the head before fleeing the scene.
Warugu was quickly taken to Kenol Hospital for treatment and later transferred to Murang’a General Hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
The suspect was apprehended by local residents, who took matters into their own hands before turning him over to the police.
The woman’s body is now at the mortuary awaiting an autopsy, while the suspect remains in custody, facing murder charges.
