Man Murders Wife, Daughters
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is reaching out to the public for help in finding a man wanted for the tragic murder of his wife and two young daughters in Samburu County, which occurred late last month.
In a statement released on Wednesday, October 8, the DCI named the suspect as 28-year-old Wycliffe Otieno Odero, who has been evading capture since the horrific incident.
“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is appealing for information from members of the public that may lead to the arrest of 28-year-old Wycliffe Otieno Odero.
“Odero is wanted in connection with the brutal murder of his wife and two children on September 27, 2025, in Yare area of Samburu Central Sub-County,” the statement read.
According to the DCI, a tragic event occurred when Odero reportedly came home late that night, resulting in a fatal clash with his family.
“On that tragic night, the suspect returned to their rented house on the Maralal–Nyahururu road, where he lived with his wife, Ann Njeri Atheera, and their daughters, Natalia Nyambura (6) and Tyra Jones (4),” the statement added.
Investigators have disclosed that the attack was driven by a mix of alcohol and anger, leading to the tragic deaths of all three victims.
“In a fit of drunken rage, he attacked his wife, inflicting fatal stab wounds before turning his violent outburst on the two sleeping children, tragically slitting their throats. He then fled into the night and has been evading capture ever since,” the statement further read.
Despite the ongoing efforts to track down and apprehend the suspect, detectives have yet to find success.
This comes just a week after the DCI announced a cash reward for any information that could lead to the capture of Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, the primary suspect in the Kware dumpsite killings.
In a statement released on Tuesday, September 30, the DCI noted that Jumaisi, who managed to escape from police custody before he was set to face charges in court, remains a wanted individual.
“Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, the prime suspect in the monstrous killing of several women whose bodies and parts were retrieved from the Kware dumpsite in Nairobi, is still wanted by police. Jumaisi escaped from custody in August 2024, moments ahead of his arraignment for murder,” the statement read.
The DCI has announced that the National Police Service (NPS) is now offering a reward of Ksh1 million for anyone who can provide information that leads to his capture.
“The National Police Service hereby pledges a cash reward of Ksh1 million to anyone who provides credible information that will assist in the re-arrest of the suspect.
“Should you know his whereabouts, #FichuaKwaDCI through our toll-free hotline 0800 722 203, or Whatsapp Number 0709 570 000. You can also report to your nearest police station or through the police hotlines 999, 911, or 112,” the statement concluded.
