Prophet Owuor WhatsApp ‘Conversation With God’
A leaked WhatsApp screenshot that supposedly shows Prophet David Owuor chatting with God has taken the internet by storm, prompting a strong denial from his Ministry of Repentance and Holiness.
The church claims the image is a complete fabrication and it has been shared widely across social media, leading to a mix of mockery and concern among Kenyans who have circulated it thousands of times.
In response, the church released a firm statement declaring the screenshot to be entirely false, unfounded, and malicious, urging people to ignore it and refrain from sharing it further online.
“It has come to our attention that a doctored image is making the rounds on social media, falsely suggesting that Prophet Dr. Owuor is in WhatsApp communication with GOD. This assertion is completely false, baseless, and malicious,” the statement read.
According to the statement, Prophet Owuor has never made, shown, or even hinted at any such communication, calling the material a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.
This comes despite Owuor being seen during a recent sermon holding up screenshots on his phone, claiming they were divine messages sent through a popular messaging app.
He stated that these messages included calls for people to repent and a promise from God to “open the sky for rain.” Owuor also claimed he is the only person who communicates with God via WhatsApp.
However, the church labeled the screenshot as a fake and an attack designed to mock the Christian faith, urging believers not to share the misleading image and to stay focused on the true message of repentance and holiness.
This follows a revealing investigative report by TV47 on February 9, titled ‘Divine or Deceptive,’ which examined Owuor’s healing claims and included stories of medical decline after patients stopped their treatments.
The broadcaster has also reported on alleged bribery attempts by the ministry aimed at stopping the broadcast, which the church has dismissed as nothing more than blackmail and baseless fake news.
A leaked image pokes fun at televangelist Prophet David Owuor by showing a made-up WhatsApp chat where he supposedly chats with God.
The formatting cleverly mimics real messaging, complete with timestamps and read receipts (“last seen Eternity”), mixing the ordinary with the divine for a humorous twist.
However, the timestamps seriously call into question the chat’s authenticity. The quick, human-like exchange (for instance, from 6:59 AM to 7:01 AM) sharply contrasts with the idea of God being eternal and all-powerful, adding a layer of ironic humor.
Moreover, the sequence is chronologically impossible: a message from “God” at 7:03 AM gets a reply at 7:01 AM saying “Message received,” which suggests the timestamps have been fabricated or edited.
These timestamps serve as the most telling evidence that this is a crafted digital creation, not a genuine leak.
