Mechanic stabbed and killed over mobile phone
A 32-year-old mechanic lost his life in a tragic altercation with a colleague over a mobile phone in the Ruaka area of Kiambu County. According to the police, the attacker fled the scene after the incident on January 11, leaving behind the weapon.
Witnesses reported that Peter Ngaru Njuguna had a heated argument with the assailant about the phone. In a moment of rage, the assailant pulled out a kitchen knife he had tucked away and stabbed Njuguna in the stomach, which proved to be fatal.
Njuguna was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital, but sadly, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Authorities noted that he had also been stabbed in the neck, and they recovered the weapon at the scene.
His body has been taken to the mortuary while police continue their search for the attacker.
In another incident in Ntimaru, Migori County, a man named Anthony Chacha died after being assaulted. He was taken to a local hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries before police could transport his body to the mortuary for an autopsy and further investigation.
Additionally, police are looking into the death of a man found hanging from a fence in what appears to be a suspected suicide in Kikambuani, Kangundo County. His body was discovered with a sweater tied to a tree nearby. While authorities suspect suicide, they are still conducting an investigation.
The body has been moved to the mortuary for an autopsy and other necessary procedures.
In Ndarasha, Juja, Kiambu County, a 28-year-old man was found dead in an open field, with suspicions of murder surrounding the case.
The lifeless body of Worris Waweru Wamboi was discovered lying in an open field, one hand tucked behind his back, with visible injuries to his head and fresh blood pooled beneath it, according to police reports.
It was later revealed that he had a heated argument with his mother, which escalated when a tenant in the compound stepped in, leading to a physical altercation.
After sustaining injuries from the fight, including a bleeding head, he left his home. Witnesses and police stated that he collapsed about 800 meters away and tragically passed away.
His body has been taken to the mortuary, where it will await an autopsy and further investigation into the murder. As of Tuesday, the alleged assailant had not yet been apprehended.
Murder cases have been increasing, despite ongoing efforts to address them. Police believe that many of these incidents stem from love triangles and disputes over land and money.
