80 year old woman raped and killed in Maralal
Police are looking into the tragic murder of an 80-year-old woman whose body was discovered in a water-filled ditch after she went missing from her home in a village near Maralal, Samburu County.
According to the police, the incident took place on Tuesday in Kisima village and involved a suspect named Sision Lepukunyu. Her sons reported that they had left her at home on Monday, January 5, to run some errands, but when they returned, she was nowhere to be found.
This led to a search that ultimately took them to a ditch close to the Lotulo airstrip, where they found her body.
The authorities noted that her body showed injuries on the left side of her head and neck.
As of now, the motive behind the murder remains unclear, and police have transported the body to the mortuary for an autopsy and further investigation.
In another incident in Mirangine, Nyandarua County, a young girl tragically drowned in a family well at her home.
The three-year-old was playing with other children in the yard in the Kihuho area when she accidentally slipped and fell into the well.
Local residents rushed to help and managed to retrieve her, but sadly, it was too late. Her body has been taken to the mortuary, awaiting an autopsy.
Meanwhile, in Ithanga, Muranga County, police are probing the sudden death of a minor at a residence. Authorities suspect that the death may be linked to a cult that has been gaining traction in the area.
A young minor tragically passed away at home on January 2, and it’s believed that the family follows the Kavonokya religion, which holds a belief against using any form of medicine when illness strikes.
The minor’s body has been taken to the mortuary while awaiting an autopsy and other necessary procedures. Unfortunately, occult practices are widespread in the area and have led to numerous fatalities.
In a separate incident in Laini Saba, Kibera, Nairobi, police are looking into the unexpected death of the ODM chairman for the Laini Saba ward in Kibra constituency.
Authorities reported that Ken Otieno Agalo, 42, fell ill on Tuesday, January 6, while visiting a friend in Kabiria, Riruta. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
According to police, he had experienced vomiting and a nosebleed prior to his death.
His body has also been moved to the mortuary for an autopsy and further investigation.
Meanwhile, in the Majengo slums of Nyeri, police are probing the death of a woman found in a house.
The woman was discovered in the residence of a casual laborer in the area, but her identity remains unknown. The homeowner reported that he had left for work and returned in the evening to find her lifeless in the house, with the door left open.
It’s unclear how the woman gained access to the house, and police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
Her body has been taken to the mortuary for identification and an autopsy, and there were no visible injuries at the time of discovery.
