Raila Junior White Attire Meaning
Raila Junior has shared the reason behind his choice to wear white for his father’s funeral service.
A sea of mourners has come together to pay their respects to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in Bondo.
In a departure from the traditional black attire, Junior chose to do white.
While speaking to the crowd during the funeral service at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology in Bondo, Junior expressed that he wants to take this day to celebrate Raila’s remarkable life.
“You can see me here, I’m dressed in white because I feel the past three days we have mourned Baba, we have cried for Baba, I myself, I’ve been very exhausted, but I’ve stood strong because I know that is what Baba would have wanted,” he said.
“Today, we are not mourning, we are celebrating a life well lived, we are celebrating Baba at 80, because Baba lived and he lived his life through so the rest of us today we are celebrating Baba and his legacy,” he explained.
He said that as a family, they will man a man they have called father and who taught them how to live a good life.
He described Raila as a man full of fun and laughter.
“Baba gave all of us his life. You gave all of us your life, you stayed with us, and you showed us how to live our good life, and for that we are extremely thankful. Baba, you left us with your vitendawilis. We will miss them, we will miss your fun, your joy, your laughter, and we will miss you.”
