Mysterious Deaths Spark Investigations
Police in Chuka have kicked off an investigation into the puzzling death of a 29-year-old man, whose body was found inside his locked car after he had been missing for several days.
On Tuesday, September 30, Chuka North sub-county police commander Paul Kuria shared that the man was last seen on Friday, September 26.
His body was eventually discovered in his vehicle, which was parked close to a bank.
At the scene, detectives uncovered two charcoal stoves with burnt remnants inside the car, which has raised concerns about a possible suicide.
Kuria urged residents to reach out for help if they’re facing mental health struggles, highlighting the importance of having open conversations with friends, family, and professionals.
“We are asking citizens that if someone is facing difficulties, it is better to talk with family, and there are also professionals who can help by speaking to the person. There is no problem that cannot be solved to the point where we end up losing people in unexplained ways,” he said
Just weeks ago, the body of a missing construction worker was found in a water sump at the Talanta Sports Stadium.
The victim, 35-year-old Sammy Kyengo, had been reported missing by his wife just a week prior.
His body was discovered floating in a sump that was concealed behind boards beneath the terraces currently being built on the left side of the stadium.
According to reports, a casual laborer who was preparing one of the rooms for plastering stumbled upon the grim discovery around 9 am.
After noticing the covered sump and moving the boards, he found Kyengo’s body.
Investigators who arrived at the scene noted that the deceased had visible injuries on the back of his head and the right side of his neck.
They also observed blood seeping from his nose and mouth, raising questions about the circumstances of his death.
After forensic teams processed the area, the body was taken to the Nairobi Funeral Home.
The news of this discovery sent shockwaves through the workers at the project site.
“We are shocked to hear that there was a body recovered submerged inside water. We are shocked and asking ourselves, ‘in whose hands are we safe?’” Ivan Bongo, a fellow construction worker, shared with the press.
