Boy, 3, dies after falling from 7th floor
Tragedy struck a family when a three-year-old boy lost his life after falling from the seventh floor of an apartment building in Kware, Embakasi, Nairobi. The heartbreaking incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, December 20, at Sweet House Apartment.
The little boy, who was from Tanzania, was playing with other children when the accident happened. He was quickly rushed to the hospital, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries.
His body has been taken to the mortuary, where it will await an autopsy and further procedures. Such tragic accidents have become all too common in residential areas, prompting urgent calls for greater vigilance from parents and guardians.
In another incident in Mbiuni, Mwala, Machakos County, a 43-year-old man was electrocuted while attempting to pump water from a well. Police reported that Wambua Musau was in the process of connecting wires to the pump when the accident occurred on Saturday morning.
Authorities from the police and Kenya Power and Lighting Company arrived at the scene to assist in moving the body to the mortuary, where it will also await an autopsy and investigation.
Meanwhile, in Nairobi’s Kayole area, a man was found dead in a hotel, slumped over a seat. The deceased, identified as 30-year-old Victor Ochieng Kitoto, was part of a group that had gathered at the hotel for a party. After the festivities wrapped up, everyone left around midnight, but Kitoto remained asleep on the seat.
His body was discovered the following morning by hotel cleaners. Like the others, his remains have been taken to the mortuary for an autopsy and further investigation, according to police.
In Busia, law enforcement apprehended a man suspected of trafficking two young boys, aged 16 and 15. This individual was already wanted for human trafficking offenses and is currently in custody, awaiting interrogation and potential charges. The boys, who are from Moyale, reported that they had been told they were being taken to Europe via Uganda.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the police.
A team of detectives from Dandora and Shaurimoyo in Nairobi has apprehended a murder suspect during an operation that also led to the recovery of a firearm and some stolen goods. The suspect, identified as Peter Kimani, also known as Kim, was caught along Gallole Street in Eastleigh.
Officers found a Retay Falcon pistol, a live 9mm hollow-point round, and a spent cartridge of the same caliber in his possession.
Additionally, detectives seized a red Boxer motorcycle that is believed to have been stolen. The police have ramped up their efforts to tackle crime during the festive season, resulting in several arrests across different locations.
