Nakuru Cops Kill Fellow Officer
Four police officers from the Maai Mahiu Police Station in Nakuru County have been arrested in connection with the tragic shooting of a fellow officer during a patrol operation in the Msikiti area.
According to a police report obtained by Citizen Digital, officers Jim Murithi, Emmanuel Sang, Antony Wangombe, and Joshua Keter were taken into custody at the Naivasha Police Station after investigations revealed their involvement in the shooting and the subsequent cover-up of Corporal Hassan Lolkidid’s death.
The initial report, filed on October 29, 2025, indicated that a police patrol team, which included Corporal Lolkidid along with the four suspects, as well as officers Richard Muriithi and Wycliffe Okello, had received a tip-off about a suspicious lorry unloading tires and hardware materials in the Msikiti area, located about one kilometer west of the Maai Mahiu Police Station.
The officers showed up at the scene and spotted around ten men unloading some goods. Just moments later, the men scattered in all directions when the police team tried to question them.
As the chase unfolded, gunfire erupted, and Corporal Lolkidid was later discovered with a serious chest wound.
After the incident, the police team claimed they hadn’t fired their weapons, stating that the origin of the gunfire was uncertain
The officers had a total of five firearms confiscated, which included Jericho pistols and Ceska handguns, all set for ballistic testing.
Meanwhile, the lorry was towed to the Maai Mahiu Police Station for a deeper investigation, and the body of the fallen officer was taken to Umme Funeral Home, awaiting an autopsy.
However, preliminary investigations uncovered that the four officers were involved in covering up their colleague’s death, which led to their arrest.
These police officers are scheduled to be arraigned on October 31, 2025.
