Kenya has been named the friendliest country in the world in the 2025 rankings, according to the Readers’ Choice Awards.

In a recent publication from Condé Nast Traveller, Kenya scored an impressive 98.46, placing it at the top of the list among the other nine countries in the top ten.

“As crowned by our readers, Kenya receives the title of world’s friendliest country for 2025, and it’s easy to see why,” read the document in part.

The Condé Nast Traveller further revealed that Kenya took up the centre stage owing to the incredible safari tour guides who, according to the readers, make travellers completely at ease even when meters away from a prowling lion.

“The ‘Big Five’ animals usually take centre stage here, but behind each lovely Kenyan safari, there’s a whole host of even lovelier guides who make you feel completely at ease, even when meters away from a prowling lion,” read the document in part.

On the other hand, most readers rated Nairobi as a city with an eclectic nightlife scene that showcases Kenya’s passion for parties.

“Nairobi’s eclectic nightlife scene showcases Kenya’s passion for parties. At the same time, those looking for a more relaxed break can explore the dreamy coastline, dotted with five-star resorts along endless stretches of white sand,” read the report in part.

Meanwhile, the Tourism Cabinet Secretary (CS), Rebecca Miano, who was impressed by the report, took to her official X account on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, where she expressed her pride in Magical Kenya.

“We are immensely proud to share that Condé Nast Traveller readers have voted Kenya the World’s Friendliest Country. This significant recognition is a powerful testament to the genuine warmth, exceptional hospitality, and welcoming nature of the Kenyan people, from our expert safari guides to our coastal communities and our hospitality industry whose larger population are our youths.

“This recognition belongs to every single Kenyan whose warmth and spirit make our destination truly magical. The heart of Magical Kenya is our people, and thank you to all Kenyans for representing our nation so beautifully. Karibu Kenya!,” CS Miano said.
