Willy Paul liquor store raided
Musician Willy Paul recently shared some troubling news: his liquor store in Nairobi was raided on Thursday night by what he referred to as a group of “hired goons.”
In a post on his Instagram, he explained that the group broke into his store, vandalized the property, and made off with some pricey liquor.
“My shop was targeted by a group of hired goons who attempted to create the impression that the attack was carried out by students. In reality, their sole intention was theft,” he wrote.
“They broke into the shop, stole merchandise, including some expensive alcohol, and even tried to steal the CCTV hard drive but were unsuccessful.”
Willy Paul shared that the attackers inflicted considerable damage to his property, breaking windows and damaging his car. Thankfully, he confirmed that no one was hurt during the incident.
He also mentioned that he reported the situation to the police, and investigations are already in progress to track down and apprehend those responsible for the break-in.
“The police have been notified. Investigations are already underway, and we are working closely with the authorities to apprehend those responsible,” he said.
Despite the losses, the artist assured fans and customers that his business, The Bar Next Door (BND), remains open and fully operational.
“I also want to let you know that our business remains open, and we appreciate your continued support during this time,” he stated.
A break-in happened just hours before Willy Paul was set to perform at the Mazingira Day Party, which was scheduled for later that Friday night at the same venue.
Fans took to the comments section to show their support for the artist, with many calling on the authorities to catch those responsible.
Willy Paul, famous for his hits like Sitolia, Umeme, and Jigi Jigi, has also ventured into business in recent years, launching The Bar Next Door as part of his investments in Nairobi’s entertainment industry.
