It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Daniel Ole Sambu, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party. President William Ruto conveyed this heartbreaking announcement on Thursday night, expressing that Sambu’s “wisdom and insight will be deeply missed.”

“Daniel Ole Sambu, the UDA Deputy Secretary-General, was a gentleman and a solid grassroots mobiliser,” Ruto said.
The President paid tribute to the late Ole Sambu, calling him a dedicated UDA leader who embraced mature and forward-thinking politics. He extended his condolences to Sambu’s family and the entire UDA community during this difficult time.

In a statement, Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan highlighted the man’s strategic vision, steadfast dedication to the party’s development, and tireless efforts in strengthening their grassroots structures, all of which are irreplaceable.
He also extended his sympathies to Ole Sambu’s family, saying, “During this time of profound sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”
He reassured that the UDA community shares in this loss and committed to providing support during this incredibly challenging time of mourning.
“We pray that God grants the family strength and fortitude to bear the loss and offer our sincere condolences,” Hassan added.

Ole Sambu took on his role during the party’s restructuring in preparation for the 2022 General Election.
In addition to his political career, Ole Sambu was passionate about conservation.
As they mourn his loss, the Biglife Foundation remembered him as a “beloved colleague, brother, father, and community leader, as well as the Predator Compensation Fund (PCF) Program Coordinator.”
“His absence leaves a void that words cannot fill, not only within our Big Life family but across the entire community that depended on his wisdom, compassion and unwavering commitment,” the foundation stated.
It urged Kenyans to celebrate Ole Sambu’s legacy of service, resilience and love for both people and nature.
“His spirit will continue to guide us, and may his memory inspire us to carry forward the mission he held so dearly.”
