Girl’s Body Recovered in Latrine
Detectives are currently looking into the tragic murder of a five-year-old girl whose body was discovered in a pit latrine in Navokholo, Kakamega County.
According to the police, the little girl was a PP2 student at Nderema Comprehensive School nearby.
Witnesses, including local residents, reported that she had been playing with other children in the area before she suddenly went missing.
It’s believed she was murdered and then discarded in the latrine. Authorities have since recovered her body and taken it to the mortuary.
Shortly after, a mob apprehended a man they accused of being responsible for the crime and took matters into their own hands, lynching him.
They stoned him to death and set his body on fire, all before the police could arrive on the scene.
The motive behind the child’s murder remains unclear at this time.
Both bodies have been transported to the local mortuary as investigations continue, along with an autopsy.
In another case, police are also probing the death of a 46-year-old woman found in her home in the Jamhuri area of Kilimani, Nairobi.
The woman has been identified as Martha Wahumu Njoki, and the cause of her death has yet to be determined. Her body was discovered long after she had passed away.
Her roommate alerted the authorities, prompting the investigation, and the body has been moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Additionally, a British woman was found deceased in her apartment in Shanzu, Mombasa County.
The police have identified her as Shield Kathleen, 89, who had arrived in Kenya on April 24, 2025, and was scheduled to leave on November 22, 2025.
Police have reported that initial findings indicate the woman was unwell. Her body has been taken to the mortuary while an autopsy and further investigations are conducted.
Just last week, a French tourist was discovered deceased in her hotel room in Naivasha, Nakuru County.
Authorities identified her as Dominique Marie Josephe, a 20-year-old who arrived in Kenya on October 21, 2025, and checked into her room two days later.
Before settling into the hotel for an overnight stay, she had visited the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.
Her travel companions mentioned that she was supposed to head to Amboseli National Park on October 24, but she was found unresponsive before that could happen.
As mentioned earlier, her body was moved to the mortuary for an autopsy and further investigations.
In another incident in Diani, Kwale County, a 60-year-old German man was also found dead in his room.
The cause of Frank Kibling’s death has not yet been determined, according to police.
Authorities were alerted to the situation by a caretaker from the building where he and other tenants reside, who reported that the foreigner was deceased.
His body was discovered lying on the sofa, with the door to his room partially ajar, police noted.
Like the previous case, his body has been taken to the mortuary while an autopsy and other procedures are carried out.
