Thousands TikTokers visits mama Gift in Embu
Even before the story of Kaluma Boy starts to fade from the public eye, a fresh wave of compassion has washed over the country. On Sunday, October 26, 2025, thousands of young Kenyans gathered in Embu County, showing their unwavering support for Mama Gift, a single mother from Gathoge. Her incredible strength and love for her ailing son, Baby Gift—who is bravely battling cerebral palsy, chronic asthma, and cardiovascular issues—have truly touched hearts across the nation.
People began arriving at Njukiri Showground bright and early. By midday, the place had transformed into a vibrant sea of individuals waving flags, singing uplifting songs, and holding banners filled with encouraging messages for Mama Gift.
Young people, content creators, and families from all corners of Kenya united, turning what started as a social media appeal into a powerful national act of kindness.
Mama Gift’s journey has become a beacon of resilience and a testament to a mother’s unwavering love.
Her son, Baby Gift, has faced numerous health challenges, and despite the financial and emotional hurdles, she has continued to care for him with remarkable determination.
Her story inspired many Kenyans—especially Gen Z and young professionals—to take to TikTok, X, and Instagram to raise awareness and organize the event in Embu.
Along the Embu–Njukiri road, convoys of vehicles and motorbikes made their way to the venue, with participants chanting, singing, and blowing vuvuzelas.
“This isn’t about politics or seeking fame. We’re here to stand with a mother who embodies courage and love. Mama Gift has shown us what true humanity looks like,” one attendee shared.
Participants brought along food, household items, and medical supplies, while others generously donated money to support Baby Gift’s medical care.
Musicians and performers kept the crowd entertained, and content creators streamed the event live, attracting even more supporters online.
The gathering in Embu showcased a fresh wave of youth-driven activism in Kenya—one that emphasizes empathy and community over politics.
Many attendees expressed that this initiative highlights a growing sense of responsibility among young people.
“As young people, we are showing that we can lead with empathy,” said a content creator who helped organize the event.
