Mutilated Body Found in Lugari Village
Residents of Apostolic area in Mautuma Ward, Lugari Constituency, Kakamega County, were left shocked and deeply disturbed after the mutilated body of a man was discovered early Tuesday morning. The gruesome scene has sparked fear and concern among locals, many of whom say they have never witnessed such a horrifying incident in the quiet village.
According to preliminary reports, the deceased had suffered serious head injuries, suggesting he may have been attacked with a blunt object. However, the exact cause of death remains unclear, and authorities have not ruled out any possibilities, including foul play. The victim’s identity has not yet been made public, as investigations are still ongoing and the next of kin are being notified.
Police officers from the PanPaper area, led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS), alongside Mbagara Assistant Chief Joseline Juma, arrived at the scene shortly after the body was discovered. Speaking to the press, Assistant Chief Juma urged the community to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors as detectives continue to piece together what might have happened.
“This is a tragic incident, and we are treating it with the seriousness it deserves. I encourage anyone with information that could help in our investigations to come forward. No detail is too small,” said Juma.
The body was taken to a nearby mortuary, where a postmortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, local leaders have promised to work closely with law enforcement to ensure the culprits are brought to book.
The incident has sparked conversations about increasing security patrols in the area, especially at night, to ensure the safety of residents and prevent such tragedies from happening again.
