Muhoozi threatens to kill Bobi Wine
President Yoweri Museveni’s son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, recently took a jab at National Unity Platform leader Bobi Wine in a rather public way.
On his X account, Muhoozi responded to a lengthy tweet from Wine on Thursday, January 22, with a brief four-word reply that poked fun at him, referencing the vote count released by Uganda’s electoral commission.
In a recent tweet, the NUP leader pointed out a screenshot that showed tweets from the general, some of which included threats aimed at him and his supporters. Muhoozi responded with a cheeky, “Boo hoo hoo, Mr. 24%.”
Bobi Wine pointed out that while Muhoozi was making his threats, military personnel stationed outside his home were busy banging on his doors, demanding that anyone inside come out if they were “men.”
“Last night, as Museveni’s son was making these threats to kill me and gloating over killing 22 of our supporters (in reality, he has killed over 100 since last week), the military, who are stationed inside our compound, yet again banged on my house doors as they sang profanities, ordering the occupants to come out of the house if they’re men. The people at my home say the criminals seemed to be drunk,” Wine posted.
To wrap up his post, Bobi Wine urged the military to leave his home right away, emphasizing that his family’s safety was at risk. He shared that the soldiers stationed outside have even gone so far as to block food from getting to his family.
“We demand that the military vacate our home immediately. My wife and I are not safe. They’re starving after these criminals blocked food from reaching them. They cut the padlocks off our gates and replaced them with chains. FREE UGANDA NOW,” concluded the post.
General Muhoozi has found himself facing quite a bit of backlash lately due to his controversial tweets, and it looks like he’s not backing down anytime soon. This isn’t his first rodeo; he’s been in similar situations before and has had his fair share of run-ins with various people over his online posts.
